One of the attractions of the island of Santorini for the more adventurous is the volcano. You can take tours to climb the volcano. This is the view as you approach the volcano.
The volcano is a hard climb, and the tour guides tend to go really fast. If you plan to attempt this, take lots of water and make sure that you are in good shape. This picture is a view of part of the path up the volcano.
The volcano is still active so it is very very hot as you get closer to the top. What you will see is the crater you will even notice sulpher deposits along the walls of the crater.
Once you get to the top you have a wonderful view of the main island.
Most of the tours also offer a stop at the hotsprings at the far side of the volcano. To get to the hot springs, you need to jump of the boat and swim several yards to the springs. Be warned, that you will emerge from the springs orange because of the sulpher.
