The Roman Forum was built by the Romans during their occupation of Athens in an attempt to draw the commercial centre away from the Ancient Agora. There were many stoas, shops, and storerooms making up the main building. The main building measured 111 metres by 98 metres, this space can be appriciated by viewing the pictures to the top left and right. The central picture shows the east entrance which was a small secondary entrance to the main area.

The bottom picture shows the Tower of the Winds which was the weather station of the day including a sundial, waterclock, and the heptogonal shape was used to determine which way the wind was blowing.
