Island of Mykonos

This is the view as you approach the Greek island of Mykonos. A frequent stop on many of the Aegean Cruises.

There are many interesting stores and sites to see on the island. This picture focuses on the Windmill over looking the main village on the island.

The ships that cruise the Aegean are smaller than typical cruise ships. In this pictures, ours was the smaller one on the left.

This picture depicts a church on the overlooking the harbour. Like many of the buildings in Greece, the church is painted white to help keep the interior cooler during the warm summers.

The many winding streets in Mykonos, lined with small cafes and shops, help add to quiet, peaceful feeling that is felt here. cobblestone street

Here my husband poses in front of the church with the blue dome. This church is frequently photographed for postcards.

After we took the picture above, we wandered over to the church to find a pelican in the doorway. It is said that many years ago a fisherman brought a pelican pair back from one of his trips. The pelicans who are now on the island are the direct decedents of this pair.
