Island of Mykonos

| This
is the view as you approach the Greek island of Mykonos. A frequent
stop on many of the Aegean Cruises. |

|
| There
are many interesting stores and sites to see on the island. This picture
focuses on the Windmill over looking the main village on the island.
|
|
| The
ships that cruise the Aegean are smaller than typical cruise ships.
In this pictures, ours was the smaller one on the left. |
|
| This
picture depicts a church on the overlooking the harbour. Like many of
the buildings in Greece, the church is painted white to help keep the
interior cooler during the warm summers. |
|
| The
many winding streets in Mykonos, lined with small cafes and shops, help
add to quiet, peaceful feeling that is felt here. |
|
|
Here
my husband poses in front of the church with the blue dome. This church
is frequently photographed for postcards.
|
|
| After
we took the picture above, we wandered over to the church to find a
pelican in the doorway. It is said that many years ago a fisherman brought
a pelican pair back from one of his trips. The pelicans who are now
on the island are the direct decedents of this pair. |
